Topic: The importance of incorporating the patient voice within global IME
We are not just experts in creating education for HCPs, but also patient awareness; this puts us in a unique position to bridge the two and bring the patient voice into our HCP education to ensure it is impactful as possible and stands the best chance in making a difference to patients. In addition, our dedicated patient education initiatives empower patients, carers, and families by providing the communication tools to amplify the issues that matter to them.
Join us for this 45-minute webinar to explore the importance of incorporating the patient voice at all stages of medical education delivery to ensure that content meets the real-world needs of clinical practice.
Sessions will showcase examples from across the SES portfolio to demonstrate the different ways in which we work with patients and patient societies to represent the diverse voices within the community to inform medical education and, ultimately, improve healthcare practice.

Steering committee season has begun!
SES is proud to oversee the content of nine individual IME hubs. Each of these hubs is guided by an international steering committee of world-leading experts in their respective therapy area, who meet regularly to discuss the content and how to support the HCP community. SES and these committees are responsible for creating needs assessments that direct the hubs’ educational objectives each year.
SES hosts two steering committee meetings per year to bring together its members to engage in informed conversations on therapies, patient treatment pathways, clinical trials, and more. Content from these meetings can be disseminated on the hubs directly, but it is also used to direct further educational content.
Industry plays a big part in the battle against disease; because of this, our steering committee allows supporters of a certain level to attend meetings in an observer capacity. In addition, they receive a report outlining what the committee feels, as a group, is of immediate importance to the HCP and patient communities.
The unique relationship that SES has with our steering committee members, in addition to our understanding of the important responsibility that industry has for education and patient outcomes, means we are able to provide significant value to HCPs through the content on our hubs.

CME symposium update: Demystifying the complex
The role of ECP in the management of GvHD: Delivering engagement with key targets through live and enduring content
In addition to our global IME hubs and patient platforms, SES offer bespoke, CME accredited medical education. Most recently, the GvHD Hub was delighted to host a dedicated symposium addressing the role of extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) in the management of GvHD, which was expertly chaired by Professor Mohamad Mohty, with additional learning delivered by Professor Hildegard Greinix and Professor Daniel Wolff.
Sessions recalled the latest data and recommendations relating to ECP use in GvHD. The expert panel provided guidance on how to identify which patients would benefit from ECP and stated factors that may warrant avoidance or deferral of ECP. The symposium also provided guidance on how to combine ECP with other therapies, such as immunosuppressive agents, and shared best-practice recommendations for conducting ECP, including treatment schedules, anticoagulation practice, and safety monitoring strategies.
The reach of the live segment of the symposium was diverse, with 300 registrants expanding over 27 countries. This program was accredited by the European Board for Accreditation of Continuing Education for Health Professionals (EBAC) for 2 hours of external CME credit available upon completion.
The feedback for the symposium has been fantastic and is a testament to the quality of the education offered. 100% of responders thought the symposium was scientifically valid and that the activity met their expectations. In addition, 100% of respondents committed to use what they had heard in the symposium in their clinical practice.
To ensure longevity of the symposium content, the sessions are hosted on the GvHD Hub as three separate videos, with additional written summaries and key visuals from the presentations, as well as the option to download the presentation slides for free. Furthermore, the GvHD Hub contains a designated area for all symposium-related content, including a playlist function that allows viewers of one symposium video to automatically transition to the next.
Across YouTube and the GvHD Hub, the video content has amassed over 1,000 views in just over 2 months. This highlights a keen interest from our target audience in the content of the symposium. Moreover, promotion of the enduring video content was highly successful, achieving almost 4,000 impressions in the same time period.
This activity was kindly supported by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals through grant funding, but no access to content steering or speaker engagement was provided.
