Patient empowerment through education: The SES patient programs
February 10, 2025
Our patient programs – Know AML and Know ALL – empower patients by providing them with up-to-date and accessible information and resources, including video interviews, infographics, and signposts to other sources of support. They run alongside our hubs to allow the voices of patients and caregivers to be heard through the sharing of experiences and challenges.
We work closely with our ambassadors and patient societies, to ensure that our work is effective in increasing awareness of the disease, treatments, and support available, as well as improving knowledge worldwide. Our global campaigns and initiatives aim to connect and collaborate with communities to raise awareness, increase understanding, and support patients and caregivers in their diagnosis and treatment.
In 2024, we provided over 1.8 million educational sessions to patients and caregivers across our Know AML and Know ALL activities, including 1.5 million views from AML World Awareness Day and World ALL Day. Overall, we had over 65,000 unique platform users from 175 countries.
In early 2025, we are expanding our patient program offerings further to include a Know GvHD platform, which will provide information and support for patients and caregivers dealing with graft-versus-host disease.
Key dates for 2025 are:
February 17, GvHD Day
April 21, AML World Awareness Day
September 20, World ALL Day
September, Blood Cancer Awareness Month
