Addressing the needs of Millennial and Gen Z clinicians

Addressing the needs of Millennial and Gen Z clinicians

This summer, Mia Hill had the privilege of being invited to speak at the Global Alliance for Medical Education (GAME) President’s Dialogue Webinar on the topic “Addressing the Needs of Millennials and Gen Z Clinicians.”

Mia, Managing Director of Scientific Education Support, has developed into a leader in continuing medical education (CME), with a deep commitment to creating impactful learning experiences. As part of the millennial generation, she brings unique insight into the needs of today’s early-career clinicians, ensuring that her team’s programs are engaging, relevant, and tailored to modern learners. Known for fostering collaboration and guiding her team to success, Mia applies adult learning principles to drive meaningful changes in healthcare practice. Her dedication to the field earned her a spot as a finalist for the Communique Young Achiever of the Year in 2017.

With the rise of digital technology, the learning styles of millennial and Gen Z clinicians have evolved. These changes pose unique challenges and opportunities for CME and continuing professional development (CPD) programs. Understanding these differences is crucial for educators and program developers to create effective and engaging learning experiences. The discussion aimed to explore these differences and address whether current independent medical education/CME/CPD programs are prepared to meet the needs of these digital-native generations.
